Polymer waterproof mortar and 2K flexible waterproof mortar both cover concrete and masonry waterproofing, but their formulations and working ranges differ. G1 suits buyers who want a rigid inorganic-polymer mortar that also levels the substrate, while GII suits projects where crack movement, elongation and a thin cross-coated membrane are central requirements. This comparison covers formulation, flexibility, pressure resistance, adhesion, mixing and application so procurement teams can match the material to the substrate and site conditions.

Polymer Waterproof Mortar (G1)

2K Flexible Waterproof Mortar (GII)

Polymer waterproof mortar and 2K flexible waterproof mortar address similar concrete and masonry waterproofing needs, yet they are built around different installation priorities. G1 is a ready-to-mix powder mortar with a rigid inorganic-polymer formulation and substrate-leveling function. GII is a two-part liquid-and-powder system designed to form a flexible membrane after curing.

The practical choice depends on the substrate and the way the waterproof layer will be used. G1 suits buyers who want one powder material for waterproofing and leveling, including positive- and negative-side building work. GII suits buyers working on substrates where thermal movement, settlement or vibration makes crack bridging and elongation important.

Product and formulation comparison

G1, the polymer waterproof mortar, combines special cement, graded aggregate, hydrophobic agents and polymer waterproof powder. It is mixed with water at the work site. Its inorganic-polymer composite forms dense hydration layers that block capillary water channels.

GII uses a polymer liquid emulsion and special cement-quartz powder. The liquid and powder are mixed together to form a seamless rigid-flex waterproof membrane. The two products therefore require different batching routines: G1 uses a 4:1 powder-to-water ratio, while GII uses a 1:1.5–2.5 liquid-to-powder weight ratio.

For purchasing teams, this distinction affects site preparation and mixing control. G1 requires water and a single powder component. GII requires both components and accurate proportioning of the liquid and powder.

Flexibility and crack movement

G1 includes polymer fiber to buffer slight base shrinkage. Its published description positions it for a rigid mortar layer with polymer flexibility and resistance to cracking from slight substrate shrinkage.

GII is the more movement-focused option within this pair. It has an elongation rate of up to 120% and can bridge substrate cracks up to 2 mm. The product is intended for dynamic structures affected by thermal expansion, building settlement and vibration.

A buyer repairing a stable concrete or brick substrate while also needing leveling can consider Polymer Waterproof Mortar. A buyer specifying a membrane for joints or substrates expected to move should review the crack width and movement requirements against 2K Flexible Waterproof Mortar.

Pressure resistance and adhesion

Both products support positive- and negative-side waterproofing, but the reported values differ by test property. G1 reaches 1.5 MPa 7-day anti-seepage pressure and has tensile bonding strength of at least 1.2 MPa on concrete and brick substrates.

GII has maximum negative pressure resistance of 0.8 MPa, 1.0 MPa adhesion on concrete and masonry, and impermeability testing under 0.3 MPa positive water pressure. These figures should be read with their test conditions and property names intact, because anti-seepage pressure, negative pressure resistance, adhesion and positive water pressure are not interchangeable measurements.

For a procurement specification, list the waterproofing side, substrate, pressure direction and required test property before comparing quotations. That keeps the G1 and GII figures aligned with the actual project requirement.

Application method and working thickness

G1 can be troweled or brushed after mixing with water. Layered application is allowed for thicknesses over 10 mm, and the mortar combines waterproofing with substrate leveling. This makes it a practical fit where the surface needs a build-up layer as part of the waterproofing work.

GII can be applied by brush, roller or trowel on damp, non-ponding substrates. It is installed in 2–3 thin cross coats to reach a total thickness of 1.2–1.5 mm. Natural curing takes 48 hours before light use, with full strength developing after 7 days. Its matte rough surface supports tile and plaster adhesion after waterproofing.

Picture two site conditions. In a basement repair where uneven concrete needs a thicker leveling layer, the G1 application method and leveling function may fit the work sequence. At a bridge joint or another area subject to movement, the GII cross-coat membrane and 2 mm crack-bridging capacity give the installer different parameters to plan around. In either case, measure the substrate condition and define the target thickness before ordering.

Which polymer waterproof mortar should you choose?

Choose G1 when the project calls for a powder mortar that combines waterproofing and substrate leveling, uses a 4:1 powder-to-water mix, and addresses slight base shrinkage in concrete or brick work. Its reported 7-day anti-seepage pressure is 1.5 MPa, with tensile bonding strength of at least 1.2 MPa.

Choose GII when the project centers on movement, crack bridging and a thin membrane system. Its two-component mix, elongation of up to 120%, crack bridging up to 2 mm, and 2–3 cross-coat application make it suited to the installation approach described for dynamic structures.

Send the supplier the substrate type, waterproofing side, expected movement or crack width, pressure direction, target thickness and estimated area. Ask for the matching component quantities and application schedule for the selected system.

High Performance Waterproof Putty Price and Sealing Guide
Selecting a high-performance sealing material for paving projects often leads procurement managers to evaluate the balance between initial cost and long-term durability. For large-scale outdoor plazas and interior wet areas, the primary goal is to eliminate moisture ingress and prevent freeze-thaw cycle damage. The YTIII series provides a versatile solution that addresses these challenges through a dual-application process, ensuring that joints remain dense and impermeable regardless of the environment. Understanding the factors that influence waterproof putty price requires looking beyond the raw material cost to the total value of reduced maintenance and extended surface life.

Industrial Wall Putty 40kg Price and Procurement Guide
When planning large-scale construction or renovation projects, determining the budget for surface leveling materials is a critical step. The search for wall putty 40kg price often reflects a need for a balance between bulk procurement efficiency and material performance. This article examines the variables that influence the cost of wall putty and how to evaluate these materials based on industrial standards. In the B2B construction sector, the cost of a 40kg bag is rarely a standalone figure; it is a component of the total cost of ownership. Factors such as drying time, shrinkage rates, and ease of sanding directly impact labor costs.

NZ200 Fiber Reinforced Base Layer and Putty Price Analysis
When selecting a base layer for heavy exterior stone coatings, the priority for project managers and contractors often shifts from the initial putty price to the long-term structural integrity of the facade. The NZ-200 Fiber Reinforced Anti-Crack Base is engineered specifically to address the systemic failure points of thick texture finishes, such as thermal expansion and wall shrinkage. By integrating an embedded composite fiber matrix, this material provides the necessary flexibility to absorb mechanical stress that typically leads to hairline fractures in concrete and brick substrates. For buildings in humid or coastal regions, the challenge is twofold: resisting structural cracking while preventing biological colonization.
